Ben and I certainly didn't envision the life of Grab The Setlist to get this big, so fast. Last week (23/08/2017) we had an incredible opportunity to sit and chat with Ellie Rowsell and Joel Amey of Wolf Alice.
We caught up with half the band just a couple of hours before the penultimate gig of their intimate summer tour. Sitting backstage of the Tunbridge Wells Forum, within earshot of bandmates Joff Oddie, Theo Ellis and Slaves frontman Issac Holman, we talked about their anticipated second album 'Visions Of A Life', the incredible community of musicians they surround themselves with and getting back to playing shows in venues of all shapes and sizes. The full interview is available to listen to at the bottom of this page.
After a terrific support slot from Kent band Ladybird (a band to check out if you're fans of Slaves or Sleaford Mods), Wolf Alice made their way on stage for the 250 fans who sold out this show in under a minute. The band settled into the show with Visions Of A Life's second single, 'Don't Delete The Kisses' before unleashing favourites such as, 'You're a Germ' and 'Your Love's Whore'. For the full setlist, check out #SETLISTGRABBED in our menu and on Instagram.
The huge tracks made the tiny venue feel even smaller. Being able to see Wolf Alice in such a space is a privilege, but these songs are ready to fill the arenas on their upcoming UK tour which sees them conclude at London's Alexandra Palace - a whole 40x bigger than TW Forum!
I hope you're as excited for Visions Of A Life as we are. September 23rd is the all important release date so make sure you have that logged in your diaries (or iPhone calendars if you prefer). Whilst you wait, please enjoy our interview with Ellie and Joel below. RA 😏 // BC 💃 This interview was provided in partnership with University Radio Bath
